Oempro provides two methods for tracking bounced email addresses:

  • Email piping
  • POP3 access

If you are on a Linux/Unix server, we strongly recommend you to use Piping method. Piping method is much more stable, robust and has ability to handle huge load.

Especially, if you are sending to more than 20,000 email addresses, you will have a huge server load if you are using POP3 bounce handling method. Because for every bounced email, your mail server will have an additional task and store it on a separate POP3 account. This means additional CPU usage, hard disk space usage and RAM usage.

However, if you use piping method, received bounced delivery report will be piped to Oempro’s bounce tracking module. That’s all. It’s faster and more stable.

Windows server owners has only POP3 tracking option.

Notice: You will need direct SSH root access to your server. Please contact your hosting company for assistance on setting up piping.
