The most popular problem email marketers come across is getting black listed by SPAM filters and mail services.

You should always keep an eye on your mail servers against getting black listed. There are a few easy ways to track this issue:

Watching your email statistics
If your email statistics had a sudden drop, especially ‘delivered emails / open rates’, this can be a sign of getting black listed.

Setting up test email addresses
Setup test email addresses on different mail services such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc. Once you send your newsletter, watch those email address if you receive the email or not.

Checking black lists
Always check the most common black lists to see if you are listed or not. You can search through black lists by using these free services:

Be sure to enter your mail server IP address instead of your server or local computer IP address.
