CMS Template:

In this template type, you define ‘editable’ regions in your newsletter template. In this way, while using this template in your campaigns, you can only edit and change those pre-defined editable regions. The rest of the template will be secured for changes.

Traditional Template:

In this template type, you create a normal newsletter template and the layout of the template can be changed while creating the campaign.

If you are creating newsletter templates for your customers, then we suggest you to prefer CMS templates with editable regions. In this way, your customers will not be able to change general layout or remove unsubscription link from your newsletter templates.
