I have been doing this since 1999 and am known as the being the world's leading expert on seo and Miva Merchant. I also do newsletters, teleseminars, regional user group meetings, and seo boot camps for Miva Merchant store owners. I also maintain the world's largest online database of Miva Merchant modules where store owners can search for modules by specific features or browse based on module category. MerchantHowTo.com is a membership site offering Miva Merchant flash tutorials on everything from starting your store to using and configuring third-party modules. Lastly, I recently started BigMarketingOnline.com which will focus on non-Miva Merchant clients.

I use Oempro and oemVoteIt. Oempro is used to maintain over 8 newsletters targeted at different aspects of Miva Merchant, 1 for MerchantHowTo.com, and 1 for BigMarketingOnline.com. I must have used over 10 newsletter programs throughout the years, and Oempro has been the best by far. Maintaining 10 newsletters with one program has never been easier. oemVoteIt allows me to find out which dates are best for seminars and get the largest amount of attendees possible. I love it.
  • What feature do you find the most valuable when using Oempro?
I love the unlimited amount and types of custom fields that allow me to find out different aspects of my subscriber's businesses and target information specifically for them.

  • Alexander, tell us about your business and your role?
Keyteq is a small Bergen-based firm, consisting of thirteen employees. Norway is our main reliable market. Our aim is to deliver high quality web-based systems for small businesses. I have a quite complex role at Keyteq. My main responsibility is to take care of our products portfolio and markets, but at the same time stand-in whenever someone requires my help.
  • What Octeth's product(s) do you use at your business and how it has affected your business?
Octeth’s Oempro is of great help and we are glad of having come across this product. The latter fits perfectly in our product portfolio as we lack the requisite resources to develop our own system. We are planning the release of Oempro under the name of KeyMailer in the Norwegian market. It will be a great complement when integrated to our existing products, namely KeyPublisher, keyShop and KeySms. Keyteq will consequently succeed in delivering complete solutions to our customers.
  • What feature do you find the most valuable when using Oempro?
All the features are helpful but two main aspects standout:
    • The possibility of creating high quality member lists based on activity
    • Oempro's great report tools provide the opportunity of improving email campaigns based on previous success or inevitable failures. The live report tool also aids much.

Web Direct

Web Direct is an Austrian company which is focused on online marketing. Web Direct uses Oempro to send their newsletters, and email campaigns.

We will now have a look at what Johannes from "Web Direct" has to say about her personal experience with Octeth Technologies.

  • Johannes, tell us about your business and your role?
I am the owner and project manager of a small internet marketing agengy called "Web Direct" which consists of 5 co-workers from Vienna in Austria. For more than 10 years, it has mainly been supporting the new customer production in the B2B area. The medium email is nowadays the most favaourable and fastest way to get over new customers. I am today a market leader in this segment due to the switch from the traditional direct-marketing to email-marketing.
  • What Octeth's product(s) do you use at HotScripts.com and how it has affected your business?
I use Oempro including all the plug-ins since 2005. When I opted to change to email-marketing, I tried out more than 20 different software products, but none was up to my high requirements. I finally went for Oempro, the last tool that I tested. I knew that this software will brighten up the future of my company and the developers and support team behind which Oempro stands was excellent. In the test phase itself, I realised that this combination is unique.
  • What feature do you find the most valuable when using Oempro?
I believe it is the remarkable variety of Oempro and its handling of work. This email-marketing software helps professionals like me, by taking over many important work procedures.

One amazing service that Oempro provides is the possibility to know the open-rates. The most significant thing is the customers’ detailed tracking. Other software does not provide click-though rates which acknowledge whether the email sent has been read. The sender is not aware of which email has been read and by whom. The best dispatching time remains therefore unknown and I will never know who is interested in learning more than the information present in the email. It is very important to know who clicked on the homepage from the email and why. If this person does not announce himself, then I can call him or send a further email-offer (automatically generated by Oempro), since he is obviously interested in my products or services. This leads to an enormous increase in the sales. Another astounding feature Oempro provides is the easy way of detecting customer login. He can thus call up the data (or download it) and a release can be pursued live. Personalization is a to-be-noted provision that Oempro caters for, by offering personalized subject lines or personalized content.

Templates also can be effortlessly integrated. My graphic artist provides standard html-template, including animated gifs, which are uploaded very easily into Oempro. Even though not all customers carry out my all-inclusive services, it is still profitable due to the possibility of making money with customer accounts in Oempro.

Oempro is simply the best. There are so many more features in Oempro to point out that I could be spending days over this interview.

ShoeString Solutions

Shoestring Solutions, a one-man web design/hosting company catering to political candidates, small businesses and non-profit organizations. Shoestring Solutions have been in business for ten years and using Oempro to handle 21 special mail lists.

Let us now hear about what Bob Griggs, from Shoestring Solutions, has to say about Octeth Technologies.

  • Bob, tell us about your business and your role?
I am the owner of Shoestring Solutions (www.shoestringwebs.com), a one-man web design hosting company which caters to political candidates, small businesses and organizations with no turnover. I have been in business for ten years already. I am involved in local politics in Georgia USA and Gwinnett County, and above all working on campaigns and writing a handful of newsletters. My company also hosts discussion forums for community activists across the state including www.talkgwinnett.com.
  • What Octeth's product(s) do you use at your business and how it has affected your business?
My political newsletter very quickly outgrew my Outlook address book and then Pegasus Mail. I used Listbuilder for a couple of years. It helped but the need for a commercial-grade product that would allow me to sell list hosting services arose when I began hosting the mail lists of several political candidates and elected officials. Moreover, more control over the publishing process was required for such processes. I tested several products, both web-based and locally-installed, before settling on Oempro.

Initially, I used Oempro on a shared hosting reseller account where the send rate was no more than 250 per hour. I now use Oempro on a Virtual Dedicated Server where my send rate is an acceptable and non-stop 7,200 per hour. I use the default Oempro installation/design with very few design modifications.

Oempro has deeply improved my business. Today, the number of lists hosted by Shoestring News (www.shoestringnews.com) has grown to 21. My clients, especially the political candidates, like the service because I can quickly generate and publish a newsletter in response to the hot issue of the day. I publish two or three times a day for clients, where each can be done in a matter of minutes.
  • What feature do you find the most valuable when using Oempro?
I like the oemBilling plugin because it furthers my plan to offer a full range of newsletter hosting services. I now have a couple of clients who distribute their own publications through my Oempro-enabled service. The feature has worked so well that I will soon roll out a low-cost "maintain-it-yourself" web site/mail list product with the confidence that it will work as intended.

The most valuable but not last, Oempro feature, for me is one of the newest, the ability to cut and paste new subscribers. My political clients often receive requests to be added to their mail lists, which they can then forward to me, three or four at a time! I can now easily add a handful of subscribers to a client list as they are received.

Many of my clients are pinching pennies to maintain a web presence. They like the fact that a page published at their site can also be sent to their mail list since it saves them production costs.

The support offered with this product is worth-mentioning. I have been impressed with how quickly new functionality is added, often at the request of a user. The Oempro staff has never failed to offer guidance when I run into a problem, even when most of the problems have been related to my hosting setup and not to Oempro itself.
